Ton's hopes for promotion were given a boost on Friday evening after the FA approved the restructure at Steps 4-6.

The proposal recommends the upward movement of 110 clubs - upon their application - within the pyramid at Steps 4-6 in order to facilitate new divisions.

This will protect the integrity of the NLS whilst supporting clubs with a desire and ambition to progress, without undermining the stability of the system.

The news has been welcomed by the club, with Ton having led the SCEFL Division One in 2019/20 just six games shy of completing the campaign, while getting off to a 100 percent start in 20/21, winning all six of their opening league games.

Dan Scorer's side has also taken the scalp of numerous Step 5 clubs in cup competitions, reinforcing a readiness for the next level.

Ton have of the strongest PPG's not only in the SCEFL, but nationwide at Step 6, with the club maintaining it's ambition and desire to progress on the strength of sustained on-field performance.

We understand key future dates are as follows:

April 26-May 3 - Eligible clubs invited to apply for promotion

w/c May 10 - FA Sub-Committee meet to approve applications for upward movement

w/c May 17 - FA release League constitutions for the 2021/22 season.

Should Ton's application be approved on or around May 10, it would be the club's first foray at Step 5, having only entered the SCEFL in 2018/19, after winning the Kent County Premier Division title.
